No longer working at all

Postby pndragon » Thu Aug 05, 2010 4:17 am

Not really sure where to put this, since in over 5 years this is the first time i've had this particular problem.

Following the regular update cycle of Java on Vista I have finally reached a point where jpatch no longer functions after it opens. this started today after the installation of jre6u21. this may just be a bug on this machine but there are no error messages at all so i haven't the faintest clue about what to do

Have you tried starting it from a shell (or DOS box or whatever they call this on windows)?
It should at least print an error message... :?

After all of the time I spent enjoying linux---truth, no sarcasm!---that was the first thing I thought of.

No error messages from version 0.4preview1, but no response other than a dead gui either. version 0.5.2 works, sort of, as long as you don't want any of the export features and without them it's just a toy.

Hmmm... it could be one of the "preferences".
I think on Windows they are stored in the registry. You could try to search for JPatch and when you find the jpatch settings, delete the whole branch. Wild guess though...
