Sourceforge and Subversion

Postby sascha » Sun May 21, 2006 7:38 am

While I'm quite happy with the "new" web-host (it seems to be quite fast, and beside some short database outages I haven't seen any problems in the past few months - can you confirm that?), berlios.de is beneath contempt again.

Since CVS is hosted on berlios, I think about moving it back to sourceforge.

How's your expirence with sourceforge lately, has it stabilized again?
The now offer Subversion service - has anybody got expirence with it?

I haven't personally seen any issues with Sourceforge, but I don't use CVS heavily. I recall hearing something about an issue with CVS a couple weeks ago, but it appears to have been cleared up.

Of course, changing sites puts the Grass is Greener effect into action - Sourceforge will suddenly become flakey and unreliable, and Berlios will become the paragon of stability. ;)

I wouldn't change the web-server, it's much faster and more reliable than sourceforge AND brelios (so I think it's worth the €5/month - and I've got the insane disk-quota of 75GB - enough to put some feature length HDTV movies online ;-). Serliously, I'll never need that, but the 100MB quotas on sourceforge and berlios are quite scrimpy).
It's just about the CVS.
