UVMapping

Postby adarsh3D » Thu Sep 29, 2005 6:05 am

dear sascha,

When can we expect UV mapping to be available in JPatch?

Meanwhile, could you suggest any other (free :) ) alternatives.

I have a model ready in Jpatch & have to wrap an image around it

thanks

adarsh.

You could try to export in .obj format and use one of the freely available u/v mapping programs. I'm afraid I don't have a link right now, just try a search-engine...

I ran across this posting about Blender's LSCM Unwrap feature. It's got a neat little video that goes with it, and show off the "live" unwrap feature.

Just a little something to consider when you get around to working with U/V mapping.

Oh yes - I'd like a pony, too. ;)

This time blender.org seems to be down :(
I'll try it again later...

Just bumping this topic a bit. here's a link to pelt mapping in Max that covers most of the features pretty well.

While probably being tedious to actually code, most of the basic ideas look pretty straightforward.
